Many families question whether or not it is economical for them to live together. What are the benefits? What are the pros and cons?
According to Out of Debt Christian.com, “…don’t look at living with the grandparents, parents and grandkids as a difficult experience, but one that can save you money and bring you closer together.”
Their article and one found at Grandparents.com present a perspective on how it can be cheaper to live with other family members, which certainly makes sense. Today’s grandparents are not only younger than ever, but they are better educated and wealthier than previous ones which can greatly benefit family units as a whole.[1]
We hope you find the above links helpful in your research as you discuss with family members how finances will be impacted if you decide to become a multi-generational household.
