So, you think you’d like to be a sidetracked mom? Well, Faith and I want you to know that there are a few things you’ll have to do in order to qualify for this auspicious title.

First, you have to be a mom! Now, don’t misunderstand. We want you to know that if you don’t have kids, you’ll need to borrow someone else’s for a period of time. This is an absolute requirement because it enables you to know what it’s like to be in the middle of something and have a child call your name or interrupt whatever you were doing. We have discovered that even simple things like going to the bathroom alone are highly overrated!

Secondly, it is a must that you be organized. You have to be structured because that means you will have a “track”–you know, a sense of knowing what you’re doing, where you’re going and what comes next. That way, the next time you get interrupted, you will be forced to take a tangent and get “sidetracked.”  Tah Dah! Without this type of life skill, you won’t realize when you’ve become sidetracked. You won’t have any idea of what you were doing, what you were planning to do, or how to get back on track. In other words, you won’t have any idea of how to recover!

Thirdly, you have to have a lot on your plate. Nowadays, there’s just absolutely no excuse for not being overly committed in your daily life. This is a key element in becoming sidetracked. You simply must have  too many things to do every day or too much to accomplish within a reasonable amount of time.  By being maxed out, this will help you feel out of control–a necessary factor in being a sidetracked mom.

Now, you get bonus points if you homeschool on top of everything else! Having children home all day with you makes it even more likely that you will qualify for this honor. As we have found, this will enable you to get to the end of your rope quickly, and help you gain a lot of experience as a sidetracked mom in a relatively short period of time.

And do you know the added benefit of being a homeschool mom? Why, you’ll discover that you will have other moms admiring you and asking you things like, “How do you do it?” “How do you get it all done?” We are here to tell you that we just live for moments like these!

So, here’s the bottom line: In order to qualify as a sidetracked mom, you have to be a super mom. And as we see it, being a mom is a positively super thing to be in this life! :)
